VW in Redbridge
Volkswagen is celebrating 50 years of the GTI with a new campaign looking back at five decades of one of the brand’s most recognisable models, with part of the film shot in Redbridge. The 60-second “50 Years of Pure Passion” film follows the GTI through the generations, from its launch in 1976 to the anniversary Golf GTI Edition 50, telling the story through the drivers and families who have loved the car along the way.
FilmFixer facilitated filming for part of the campaign outside Redbridge Town Hall in Ilford. The Grade II-listed late Victorian building dates from 1901 and remains one of the town centre’s most distinctive civic landmarks. Plus, it looks particularly classy in black & white, as seen in the campaign.
