Christmas ads 2024

It’s November, which can mean only one thing; the countdown to Christmas has begun (whether we’re ready for it or not!)

Year on year, brands and production houses are upping their game when it comes to producing the most dazzling and share-worthy Christmas ads. At FilmFixer, we are always excited to see what comes across our desks and how much fake snow is going to fall on the streets of London.

This year we witness the transformation of Camden’s Keystone Crescent into the perfect festive setting for the M&S Christmas campaign (prod co: Merman). This was a major operation, involving a 24-hour road closure, and extensive dressing to the street and building exteriors. Location Manager George Verdon-Smith and team worked hard to make sure that the street was well looked after; the snowbase was pure cellulose (non toxic, no chemicals and PH neutral), the residents of the Crescent were kept in comms every step of the way, and they received donations in recognition of any upheaval. Plus, they got a visit from national treasure Dawn French, which is a pretty lovely perk!

Bromley has had a busy year for Christmas ads: Sophie Ellis-Bextor pulled up in a van full of gifts for the Freeman’s Christmas ad. Barnmead Road was transformed into ‘Sleigh Street’, and the crew made use of the local leisure centre as their Unit Base, bringing welcome revenue to the Council (LM: Simon Nixon).

Phoenix Drive doubled as the exterior of a Norfolk Home in Greater Anglia’s Christmas Ad (LM: Crispin Buxton).

We also facilitated the Vodafone Christmas Ad in the borough, working with Smuggler and LM James Khoury. At the time of writing hasn’t been released, but we’re looking forward to seeing The Spinneys looking Christmassy when it airs!

And in Hounslow, we facilitated a couple of shoots for JD Sports’ ‘The Family Portrait’ Christmas campaign. It features Central Cee and Maya Jama, and is a montage of heart-warming and smile-inducing scenes of friends and family. Location Manager: Kim Fenton.

That’s our Christmas round-up so far, with a few more to come. Stay tuned and remember that FilmFixer’s here for you all year round… not just for Christmas.
