A Quiet Place: Day One

A Quiet Place: Day One is the prequel to the highly acclaimed 2018 film of the same name. Starring Lupita Nyong’o, it was released into hushed cinemas on 27th June and has been scaring us all silly ever since.

The Bertha James Day Centre in Bromley hosted the production for two weeks in February 2023 and was dressed to double as a nursing home in the film. It was masterfully transformed by the Art Department; they wallpapered the walls, laid carpets, and installed skirting boards. It was then just as masterfully reinstated back to how it was on wrap!

Another shoot on Islington’s Worship Street made up some additional footage for the film’s opening sequence. Traffic management was key for this shoot and we’re grateful to local residents & businesses for their patience and cooperation. It’s not every day you have to close a road to make way for alien invasion, but you’ll be pleased to hear that the crew left the location un-apocalyptically spotless on their departure.

FilmFixer was also pleased to help facilitate a shoot in Kensington & Chelsea, where the production filmed inside a local church. We worked with the Council to suspend bays for the crew and whilst parking may not be the most glamorous side of filming, nothing would happen without it. You could say: without parking, crews would be kept at bay. Get it?

Congrats to SLM Ben Bailey and his team for their brilliant work on this film!
