Description

The park is in two sections, with the upper park offering magnificent views over London. It takes its name from the semaphore telegraph, which was placed on the summit, some 160 feet above sea level, by the Admiralty Board.

The park is a 'key' park patrolled by on-site park keepers. The lower park is designated a dog free park and is locked at night, however the upper park is open 24 hours a day to allow access for dog owners.

The park was awarded the prestigious Green Flag award in 2005/6 designed to recognise and reward standards of excellence in parks and green spaces.
